- Bolton's place of inspiration, enjoyment and learning, right in the heart of town. Enjoy the fascinating story of Bolton, its places and its people, alongside brilliant displays of Art, Egyptology, Archaeology, Botany and Zoology. The aquarium is the only public place of its kind in Greater Manchester. Here you can meet exotic fish, creatures and wildlife from all over the world, including Fred the Catfish and flesh eating piranhas from South America.

- The People's History Museum will close on Sunday 7 October for a multi-million pound refurbishment and re-open in late 2009.

From 2008 visitors can see some of the museum's most popular displays and room sets in the 1830 Warehouse at MoSI and explore the world changing events led by the working people of Britain. You will be taken through scenes such as the Peterloo massacre in Manchester, a secret trade union meeting, sweated work in an attic room and a suffragette's kitchen. You will even be able to play in our Co-op shop. As ever there will be plenty of hands on activities for all ages.

- Manchester Craft and Design Centre is a unique organization comprising 16 retail/studio spaces, an excellent cafe and a rolling programme of exhibitions from leading national and international makers. Located in Manchester city centre's Northern Quarter, Manchester Craft and Design Centre is at the hub of a growing innovative and artistic community. It is one of the few places in the UK open to the public where contemporary goods are both individually produced and sold on the premises. Formerly the Smithfield Victorian fish market and crowned with a huge glass roof, the Centre now houses two floors of shops ranging from jewellery, ceramics and textiles to furniture and clothing design.
