Places of interest Glasgow

Glasgow Botanic Gardens
730 Great Western Road, Glasgow, G12 OUE
0141 276 1614

Located in the city's West End, Glasgow Botanic is a cross between a public park and a botanic garden. It houses an important national collection of Australasian tree ferns as well as other exotics and is internationally known for its impressive glass houses and extensive tropical and temperate plant collections from around the world. A variety of themes of horticultural and botanical interest are found in the grounds as well as attractive walks by the River Kelvin. Its immaculate formal gardens and arboretum provide a welcome break from the bustle of the West End.
There are Rangers that can lead guided tours around the Gardens but these should be arranged in advance.
