Conference Venues Cardiff

There is plenty to do in Cardiff to coincide with any event, conference or exhibition.

As the capital city of Wales, and although relatively small, Cardiff has plenty to do. With over 1000 listed building that range from castles to unusual structures, Cardiff can keep any person occupied for the time they are in the city.

Major attractions are the likes of Cardiff Bay regeneration sites which host the recently opened Wales Millennium Centre and Senedd, along with other points of interest such as Coal Exchange. There are also the Cardiff International Arena, home to many concerts and exhitibitions and St David’s Hall.

Cardiff’s population was recently estimated at 321,000. With Cardiff being such a popular location for tourists and other visitors for business, it was the most popular visitor destination in Wales with 11.7 million visitors in 2006.
Part of the county of Glamorgan, Cardiff is an extremely easy location to get to with transport links being key. Major Motorway access as well as railway access is available to get into and around the city making the trip to the city easy for anyone.

Initially Cardiff was a mining town that over the years has developed and increased in size. As part of the major transport of coal it quickly established itself into and was made a city in 1905, which followed on as being announced the Capital of Wales in 1955.

Cardiff has seen significant amount of development take place over the last few years, not only in the centre but also along the waterfront, what is now known as Cardiff Bay area. It includes the new Welst Assembly building and Wales Millennium Centre arts complex both of which are used regularly for conferences, meetings and exhibitions.

The city has also improved its many sporting facilities, such as the building of the Millenium Stadium (used for rugby and football) and the SWALEC Stadium for cricket.

If you’re not so involved with arts or sports there are plenty of shops to keep you amused as Cardiff is on of the top ten retail destination in the UK. It holds host to three main shopping arcades and has two main shopping streets so you won’t get lost trying to locate the best shops!

Cardiff also has a number of markets including the vast Victoria indoor Cardiff Central Market and newly established Riverside Community Market specialising in locally produced organic produce.

So whether you’re here for just a day or a few days, there is plenty to see and do outside of your event. Take some time and explore what’s on offer. I’m sure you’ll be surprised and will have enough reason to hold your next event, be it a conference, exhibition or meeting, here in Cardiff.
