The British Museum is one of the great museums of the world; it has a collection of seven million objects showing the works of man from prehistoric to modern times with collections drawn from the whole world. Some famous objects include sculptures from the Parthenon, the Rosetta stone and the Sutton Hoo and Mildenhall treasures.

There are interactive displays and a changing programme of the temporary exhibitions. There are twenty eight rooms within the town House displaying well know paintings by artists such as Titian, Rembrandt, Gainsborough and also for its superb array of princely arms and armour in Britain.
Entrance to the Museum is free and open every day.

The National Portrait Gallery houses the world’s largest collection of portraits of historically important and famous British people. The collection includes photographs and caricatures as well as paintings, drawings and sculpture. Some of the famous portaits include the Chandos portrait of William Shakespeare and Holbein’s portrait of Henry VIII.
Visitors can come face to face with the people who have shaped British history from kings and queens to musicians and film stars.
Exhibitions on display of contemporary works and portaits by individual artists change frequently and there are activities and events running throughout the year.
The roof top Portrait restaurant has stunning views of london and is open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
