SS Nomadic is the last remaining White Star Line vessel and on the Core Collection of the National Register of Historic Vessels. Built at Harland and Wolff in 1911, she carried first and second class passengers out to the ill-fated Titanic from the French port of Cherbourg. In 2006 Nomadic was saved from the scrapyard by the Department for Social Development and returned to Belfast where she is undergoing restoration. In August 2009 she will move to her new home in Hamilton Graving Dock, Queen’s Road.
